This is not a new concept, in fact many will recognize this care as more similar to how primary care used to be and places the patient back in the center of the equation where they belong!
This blended insurance-concierge model again allows patients to build meaningful partnerships with their physicians in unhurried longer clinic appointments and have unprecedented direct communication to their physicians even outside clinic appointments. This is achieved by keeping a much smaller panel of patients than a typical physician (~300 patients compared to 1700 +) that is afforded by an annual membership fee to provide a valuable more personalized, detailed, wholistic model of care. Membership allows reserved same day or next business day appointments for urgent needs with your physician who knows you the best. Standard appointment are 30-60 minutes long depending on needs compared to the typical 10-20 min afforded by fee-for-service insurance only models. Annual preventative wellness physicals are an unprecedented 90 minutes long to allow for not only a comprehensive overview of chronic conditions but also allows for an in depth dive into the foundations of health and wellness that help prevent disease and functional health decline. You have the ability to email for non-urgent questions, and reach your physician directly by cell phone after hours for urgent concerns. Your physician has time to take a deeper dive into your medical concerns, coordinate more complex care, call specialists, and talk directly with you on results from lab/imaging/diagnostic results rather than a nurse relaying your results.
Patients pay an annual membership fee which enables their physicians to turn all their attentions to a smaller panel of patients and provide more comprehensive care. Patients retain unprecedented access, time, and more individualized attention from their physician! Clinic appointments, labs, procedures, and diagnostic testing fees are still processed through the patients insurance, where copays and deductible still apply based on your individual insurance plan.
